Lien Yeomans and Hentley Farm are coming to Lutèce

We are proud and excited to welcome Guest Chef Lien Yeomans, author of the best selling cookbook Green Papaya, and her “Memories of Taste” to Lutèce on Wednesday, February 26.

Lien Yeomans started her apprenticeship when she was nine in pre 1950s Hanoi and grew through her devouring of Vietnamese cookery books upon her arrival in Sydney in the early 1960s. Lien is the founding owner of Green Papaya, a Brisbane staple in introducing diners to the fresh, exciting flavours of Vietnamese cuisine.

The seven-course dinner will be matched with seven wines from Hentley Farm Wines from the Barossa Valley in South Australia. Hentley Farm specializes in producing premium quality single-estate and single-block wines solely from the vines grown on their Seppeltsfield property on the banks of Greenock Creek.   Since the first vintage in 2002, Hentley Farm has cemented itself as one of Australia’s leading boutique wineries, being awarded a rare 5 red-stars and placed in the top 3.8% of all Australian wineries by acclaimed wine writer James Halliday, with the comment “It hardly needs to be said the emphasis is on quality”.

Dishes on the evening will include prawn and crab crispy rice paper rolls with glass noodle, shiitake mushroom and black fungus with a dipping sauce, fresh herbs and pickles, matched with a 2013 Hentley Farm Pinot Grigio and Lien’s Emperor pork: thrice red cooked pork with spices, granny smith, cucumber and ruby grapefruit salad with sticky rice balls alongside a 2010 Hentley Farm “The Clos Otto” Shiraz.

Dinner by the Sunset at Lutèce

We adore the Australian Summer. Long, sunny days, fresh, seasonal produce and time to relax with our loved ones. Here at Lutèce we have combined these three loves in our Dinner by the Sunset menu.

From 5.30pm to 6.30pm every Sunday to Thursday in January and February, we at Lutèce will be soaking up the sun, the view, and a delicious meal.

Our 3-course set menu costs only $45 including a glass of Henpecked, WA wine.

Guests can choose from delectable meals such as Tasmanian pacific natural oysters with shallot vinegar & crispy prawn with aioli; Salad Lutèce with warm goat cheese fritter, baby cos, fig, prosciutto, slow poached egg and hazelnut oil dressing; and the famous Cea’s spanner crab lasagna with a crustacean sauce.

To linger further in the deliciously warm sunset, have a sweet treat from our dessert samples such as a crème brulee with North Queensland vanilla bean and cassonade crispy pastry or our profiteroles “Pauline” with pistachio ice cream and hot chocolate sauce.

This year we’re celebrating our first Valentine’s Day at Lutèce by bringing the romance of Paris to Brisbane. We’ll be open for both lunch and dinner, with normal a la carte service at lunch time and two set menu sittings for dinner.

New Year’s Eve at Lutèce

We cannot believe the year is over, and feel amazed by the amount of support we’ve received in our first six months at Lutèce. We started it all off with our Bastille Day celebrations, and have since had a Black Truffle Celebration Dinner, Crittenden Estate Wine Dinner, Beaujolais Nouveau, and now we are about to enjoy Christmas Day Lunch and New Year’s Eve Dinner.

If you’re ready to relax this New Year’s Eve and sip champagne alongside a divine French meal, we’ve got your perfect evening sorted with three options to choose from.

If you have other places to be when the clock strikes 12, join us for the early sitting at 5:30 for 6pm. This three-course dinner includes an entrée, main, and dessert for $75 per person, or $120 per person if you choose to have Moet et Chandon Brut Imperial on arrival and premium wines throughout dinner.

The night owls among us can chink glasses and indulge in a five-course meal from 8:30pm. This sitting is the perfect treat for the end of the year, and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the finer things in life with friends and family. The five-course second sitting is $115 per person, or $160 with Moet et Chandon Brut Imperial on arrival and premium wines throughout the evening.
