Ms Yeoman’s whose legendary Green Papaya restaurant in Woolloongabba was one of Brisbane’s best ever has been sadly missed from this town’s restaurant scene.

Her unique take on traditional French influenced Vietnamese food has no imitators. Its superb flavours married to a healthy deft lightness make eating her food a very special treat.

“I started my apprenticeship when I was just nine in pre 1950s Hanoi, in a kitchen run by 7 boys who cooked like pros and were wizards at the markets.”

The four course dinner and appetizer is matched with Sidewood Adelaide wines, winery established in 2004 by Owen & Cassandra Inglis. Owen & Cassandra fulfilled a dream of setting up a vineyard and horse breeding property at Oakbank and has never looked back.

Chief Winemaker Darryl Catlin grew up in the Barossa Valley and started his passion for the wine industry as youngster. Darryl is the Winery Manager for Sidewood Estate creating outstanding wines and cider since 2014. Darryl’s work was awarded ‘Best Red Wine in Australia’ from 2014 International Wine Challenge.

Here’s just a taste of what is in store for the night by chef Lien: Grilled lemon myrtle Yamba king prawn, crispy mung bean vermicelli & green shallot curls; Turmeric Coral trout, noodle salad, shallots & herbs; Canard a l’orange: “Vit nau cam” Asian spiced duck, green bean sautéed with sesame seeds & ginger coconut rice
