De Beaurepaire Wines Rylstone NSW
In the 90’s the de Beaurepaire family began an exhaustive search for the right ‘terroir’ to produce wines like those produced by our extended family and ancestors in Burgundy. Much is written about the qualitative aspects of terroir – the culture, knowledge and techniques used at a specific vineyard location and some of these are understandable when you speak with French vignerons who have hundreds of years of growing notes covering most seasons they will experience. However, we set our sights on more quantitative measures that define the great regions of France and in particular, the great vineyards of Burgundy, upon which we could develop our own cultural aspects.
From the first vine planting in 1998, de Beaurepaire single estate vineyard has grown into a renowned multi-generational boutique producer of French-style wines, located on the hills above the picturesque town of Rylstone, an area drawn to for its similarity to the Burgundian terroir.
As the business has flourished, Janet and Richard have been delighted that their children, Amanda and Will, are now part of the team, bringing with them a wealth of relevant business experience.
This is allowing the family business to grow from one couple’s passionate endeavour into a multigenerational family affair.
So when you visit us at our cellar door or at a wine and food event, say hi, as you’ll be meeting one of the family. And when you visit our beautiful hideaway, you’ll get an especially warm welcome from our wine dog, Scotch!
Our family aims to make French-style wines that are elegant, structured, food-friendly and capable of substantial bottle improvement over time. We hope you enjoy drinking them as much as we enjoy making them!
Here’s just a taste of what is in store for the Lunch & Dinner by chef Lien: Green papaya salad with oil- flashed prawn, “Cha Ca La Vong” : pearl of the Far East , turmeric fish with dill serve with condiments & rice noodle this iconic dish of Hanoi will be featured on SBS Food Safari & “Bo Ragu” Slow cooked Wagyu beef, a well-known French influenced slow cooked Wagyu beef with exotic sauce.
